GPT-3.5 And Its Application, ChatGPT

Even though the GPT-3 has made quite a milestone in AI development and proves that AI can write like humans, this model is still flawed. On March 14, OpenAI was proud to announce the latest milestone in their effort to scale up AI deep learning: GPT-4 was officially launched. This was a much-anticipated announcement in the entire AI research field.

According to their article, one year before GPT-4 was launched, they used GPT-3.5 as a “test run” of the system. They have found and fixed some bugs and improved the theoretical foundation. And, as a result, GPT-4’s training run was “unprecedentedly stable”, making it the first large model whose training performance they were able to accurately predict ahead of time.

In the article, OpenAI also said that the difference between GPT-4 and GPT-3.5 is very subtle in casual conversations. The difference only comes out when the complexity of the task reaches a sufficient threshold. GPT-4’s performance is then more reliable and creative, and it’s able to handle much more nuanced instructions than GPT-3.5.

Besides, along with the launch of GPT-4, OpenAI has announced the appearance of ChatGPT plugins. As you may know, one of the most outstanding limitations of language models is that their training data set is limited, and ChatGPT is not an exception. Sometimes, the responses from this AI language model are outdated since it can only get information till September 2021. • Multimodal generation: It’s expected that GPT-4.5 may be combined with other modalities like vision, metadata, spatial-temporal data, and so on to generate more sophisticated content across modalities. Image captioning on steroids! Even if this feature only appears like a “test run” on GPT-4.5, it’ll still be very impressive.

In the same way that GPT-3.5 shaped the look of GPT-4, these improvements in GPT-4.5 will most likely serve as the foundation for the upcoming GPT-5. By addressing the limitations of GPT-4 and introducing new capabilities in GPT-4.5, we can expect a much more powerful and innovative GPT-5.
